About Sabai Fightwear

สบาย. Sabai. In Thai it means at ease, comfortable, unbothered. It is the word you use when nothing is pressing on you.

Which is a strange thing to name a fightwear brand, until you have been in a hard round. The fighters who look calm in there are not calm because nothing is happening. They are calm because everything is happening and they are still themselves. Comfortable in chaos.

That is the whole idea. We make Muay Thai shorts and tops for people who train — the traditional Thai cut, wide leg, high side slit, a waistband that does not move — and we put Thai iconography on them instead of a logo and a swoosh.

The designs

The Yaksha is the giant who stands at the temple gate. You have seen him at Wat Phra Kaew if you have been: fangs, a gold crown, an expression that means the conversation is over. He guards the threshold. We stitched him onto the leg.

The Flaming Oni burns. The Crocodile Checkmate puts a crocodile inside a chess board, because a crocodile waits without moving until the exact moment it does not, and a checkerboard is a way of saying the result was decided several moves ago. The Pink Predator is loud on purpose.

How we build them

The Yaksha Protector and Flaming Oni lines are embroidered, so the detail holds its edge through repeated washing instead of cracking. Crocodile Checkmate and Pink Predator are printed edge to edge, which is what lets a checkerboard run unbroken through the seams.

Everything we make is designed to be worn hard and washed often. If it cannot survive a season of pad work it does not go out.
